Description

Create a charming DIY Rainbow Stained Glass Mason Jar Bat Lantern, perfect for Halloween decor that illuminates your home with colorful light.

Materials

  • Mason jar (medium size recommended)
  • Black craft paint
  • Transparent glass paint in various colors (red, blue, green, yellow, etc.)
  • Paintbrushes (various sizes)
  • Stencil or template for bats
  • Painter’s tape
  • Tea light candle or LED candle (for safety)
  • Optional: glue or adhesive for extra embellishments

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mason Jar: Clean your mason jar to ensure no dust or grease interferes with the paint adherence. Let it dry thoroughly.
  2. Design Your Bat Template: Using a stencil or template, position your bat design on the jar. Secure it with painter’s tape.
  3. Paint the Bats: Using black craft paint, carefully paint around the bat template you secured. Allow this layer to dry completely.
  4. Apply the Stained Glass Colors: Use your transparent glass paints to add layers of color around the bats, allowing each to dry before the next application.
  5. Finishing Touches: Once your design is dry, place your tea light or LED candle inside the jar. Your lantern is now ready to shine!

Notes

For best results, layer colors in thin layers and dry-fit decorations before securing them.
