Description

A vibrant and customizable garland that brightens up any room by adding a cheerful touch with colorful paper or fabric shapes.

Materials

  • Assorted colored paper or fabric (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet)
  • Ribbon (burlap or cotton) – for hanging
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Decorative items (optional: beads, sequins, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Base: Cut a length of ribbon as long as you desire for your garland. Double this length if you want to fold it in half for added strength.
  2. Cut the Shapes: Cut out colored triangles or circles from your paper or fabric, ensuring they’re all similar in size to create an even look.
  3. Arrange the Colors: Before glueing, lay out your circles or triangles in the order you want them, usually following the traditional rainbow layout.
  4. Attach the Shapes: Once you are satisfied with the arrangement, start gluing each shape onto the ribbon. For a visually appealing effect, use a small dab of glue to secure them in place.
  5. Add Embellishments: If you chose to, incorporate optional decorative items like beads or sequins for extra sparkle and texture.
  6. Final Touches: Allow everything to dry completely. Once dry, hang your garland in a window or across a mantel to display your craftsmanship.

Notes

Store your garland in a cool, dry place. Gently fold to avoid crushing any embellishments.
